During my Toronto stay, I had made a spontaneous plan with a friend of mine from New Jersey, James, to meet up in Montreal on the 26th of April and hang out for 5 days. He is an experienced traveler and was curious to know what is the deal with Montreal. So I agreed to meet up with him. Our trip there to me was perfect, the city itself was OK but the experience we had was just what I needed... I learned so much from James and everyone we met, I had a blast staying at a hostel, eating great meals and laughing with great company, you really couldn't ask for anything more. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, James jumped on a train the morning of the 30th ... and I picked up the truck and headed for home, Lucky me, my Montreal trip was extended for another 6 hours, thanks to a young lady named Ryn, a fellow traveler who needed a ride back to Toronto. We basically laughed all the way back to Toronto, I think the lack of sleep had something to do with it. Well, till next time, I guess. Click this link to check out the photos from the trip.
Trouble!

Last Night in Montreal

Hostel mates, before dancing the night away. (Right to Left) Ryn, Daniel, Ruby, Anya, James.
"Light Weight"

James's first and only beer for the night... kid can't drink. That is Clarisse calming his shaky ass down. I had to finish the rest of the beer.
The only bad thing is, I got sick when I got back to Toronto, well I'm stuck here for the time being until I feel better. I guess its better to get sick here then on the road. :)
A few moments during the trip that I don't want to forget.
Hanging out at Bistro go go... Steven, a 19 year old Irish kid from the hostel, taps James on the shoulder and says "I am so horny!" as they watch two girls dance to the live blues music being played by the band... James laughs and replies, " why you telling me?"
Still at the same bar James, Steven and I was admiring the beautiful bartender at the bar and Steven opens his mouth and says, with a thick Irish accent "I've only been here since Monday and I've fallen in love 20 times already"
Outside the hostel, smoking, I met this guy Casey from Alberta, Canada. We shared stories of why we were at Montreal. I told him I was technically homeless out to drift for a few months and hopefully find a new place I can call home. He replies to my story by sharing his definition of home. "home to me is a smell" he says "my parents moved around a lot when I was growing up, they still do and no matter where they move when I come by to visit them as soon as I get a whiff of that smell... I know that I am home." We continued to smoke our cigarettes and go back inside the hostel.
The trip was filled with moments just like these but these are my three favorite ones.
